Within The second day of editing, I was able to integrate all the new footage of the indoor scene, into the the time line i had already set out, using the lip syncing footage so it could stay in time with the music, allowing the music video cut back and forth from the lip syncing and the out door scene and the scenes including Aisleen. the footage we obtain on the last day of filming allowed us to show loads of different situations of our leading ladies struggling against her addiction.
We were able to create the image of emptiness within her life as she is continuously seen preparing to go out for the night yet the story refuses to move on as we continuously cut back to her in the mirror and never show her leaving. Another way we were able to emphasise this image was by changing the footage to black and white to show how her life lacked any class, energy or passion.
we then took full advantage of all the footage we got of her in the mirror, as to many the mirror is seen as one of the strongest, symbolic, prop within movies. we kept in mind the many idea behinds the image of mirrors, for example, looking into a mirror allows you to see your true self, we created many different images with the mirror, including the idea that she is constantly looking at herself therefore judging herself, or looking with discuss.
