Planning- Album cover Research

this is the most recent album cover from the artist that we have chosen to represent (Ed Sheeran), however this album cover creates a certain image for the artist, this an image of the artist that we want to break away from and recreate. this album cover is very dull and ordinary, but creates a slight idea of rebellious behaviour, by having clashing colours and intertextual image on the front cover. However we would like to take the rebellious theme and blow it out of proportion, we would like to re-create this rebellious image by showing the true destruction and chaos of the mind of the target audience that we are trying to attract (16-21year olds)

this second album cover is much closer to the type of image we are trying to re-create, as you can see the image used it much more abstract and unrealistic version of a traditional image found on many album covers of today, as if escaping the traditions of conventional structures of album covers, the text use only emphasises this idea, a title that has no paten what so ever, as if not following any kind of rules or conventions. Im planning to create an album cover however that contains more recognisable images that are all combined together to create a chaotic image as well as the rebellious image.
